Copic Creations challenge 36

Hi! for the next two weeks you can enter our challenge! What is it, you ask? Well, it's to get out your copics and show us how you color ORANGE! I know, you wouldn't have guessed it from my image, but I HAD to have her!

This is Betty Belfry! Isn't that a great outfit she has on!? She is from Tiddly Inks and they are our sponsor for this challenge.

I used Y35, Y38, Y15, Y17 and Y18 with just a touch of E08. The 'blacks' are colored with the Cool Greys.

No EP on this one except for what I made using an older SU background stamp! The tag is SU too.

So glad you could come by today! It has been one heck of a week for me and I'm not getting much creating done.

BUT, please come back because I'll have my lunch bag project for the Magnolia-licious monthly challenge on Saturday or Sunday!

Take care, Cheryl

Just to say hi and a winner!!

Hello! I have no idea where the weekend went!! Has anyone seen it? It's gone!
Well, here is a quick little card with the cat from I BRAKE FOR STAMPS! I love it! It is really easy to color because the stripes are there in the stamp. I add shades of grey (Cs) and then some yellow oranges. It looks just like our girl cat, Violet!
You can use my code to get 10% off your order at I Brake for Stamps_ SAVE10CHERYL
Della has done a makeover on the store and you'll love it.
I've got to get to school so for now, please see link on my sidebar! Thanks!

And my winner for the XPress It Blending card:
Random.org chose comment number 101! That's Patty Park
Blogger won't let me copy/paste her comment so I'll just hope she sees it!
If I don't hear from Patty by Wednesday evening, I'll choose again.

Thanks for visiting!
Have a great day!

Autumn Leaf

Well, don't think I'll be doing simple cards all the time, but this one practically made itself!
I mentioned yesterday that I had a happy accident while working my most recent two cards and decided to combine colors. this is the result!

ETA: I'm getting lots of comments on the leaf punch! Here are some details:
It's made by EK success. I found mine at Joann's in August (yeah, I got lucky!). It's called the LEAF CHAIN LARGE EDGER PUNCH and when I put that in the search I got quite a few hits for ordering.
I punched it and then embossed in an embossing folder (Sizzix @ SU), then inked it up!
Hope this helps! C.
The Cool Caribbean embossed background is matched with a leftover piece of leaf border from Monday's Magnolia-licious card. I fell in love with the two colors ! (did I already say that?) The border has the embossing on the opposite side as the background card stock.
Part of the reason I knew that I could make a quick card was that I had this AWESOME leaf stamped and ready to color on my table too! It is from I Brake for Stamps!

The store has been 'remodeled' for you and remember you can save 10% off your order if you use my code SAVE10CHERYL. The stamps are VERY reasonably priced, too!
Here's the link to the storefront and the leaf above. Mine is the SMALL MAPLE LEAF-2.50-3.25!

Okay, I actually kept the colors out so I could share them with you!
They are Y35, Y17, Y38, YR15, YR18 and A touch of E08. I added a little green to the 'stem' and that's it! I am going to be coloring some pumpkins with these colors to see how they look! I love ORANGEs! I'm sure you can see I added just a few stickles on the leaf edges. I did another leaf and covered it entirely with glitter, but it was too heavy and the colors became muted so it's in the discard pile!
The card base and circle are Papertrey's chocolate-it is yummy with the blue and yellow-orange!

Remember you can go to THIS POST for a chance to win some XPress It blending card from me!
(yes, this leaf is stamped on it!) Just 'leaf' a comment by Friday evening-winner to be picked on Saturday am ET
Thanks so much for coming by!

Thank you!

Hello! Thanks for all the great comments on my Magnolia-licious card below! You still have until the end of the week to comment! I'll choose a winner on Saturday and send you some XPress It blending card to try! My birthday was in August and I there were still some friends I owed Thank yous! Always late!
In August I had picked up this great simple butterfly stamp by Whipper Snapper! It was fun to color using two different colors of copics and blending them in the middle. I stamped a second, colored it and used a piece of Scor-tape to adhere the butterfly's body so the wings would lift. Then I covered it with the small glitter from Papertrey Ink. Really rather simple, but pretty, I think! I'm lovin' this texture folder from Sizzix that SU is selling. I like the deep imprint it gives. My card is 4.25" square.
While I was working on this card and on the Tilda in the Autumn leaves below I had a happy accident where two of the papers were laying together. I just had to make a card with them!!
It was like the old commercial when the chocolate falls into the peanut butter! Rememeber that one?
I'll show you the card tomorrow! Hope you can visit again!
Thanks for coming by today! Would love to read your comments, but please remember that it's the post below that is for the prize-Xpress it blending card! (and maybe a stamp or two!)
Have an excellent day!

Life is a matter of moments..

And, we hope you'll have some special moments as you travel along our blog hop today!
Hello stampin' friends! Welcome! If you're on the blog hop and you started at Angie-Scrapgirl or at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog, then you're all set! I'm just the second stop on your trip to see all the Bats and Broomsticks we have to show you!

I was all set to go with Tilda with broomstick and had even started to color her when I received a package from Diana! You know what that means, righta?! New rubbah! Well, I just love fall and as a child this was our favorite thing to do! How was I to resist stampin' and colorin' her up? I just couldn't!
This time I colored Tilda and then was stuck for paper to use. I tried all shades of orange dp and then laid my image on this Graphic 45 teal pattern-there was no going back. In real life the teal matches her jeans a little better than in my photo! The card layout was my next struggle and you know I'm not very good at the gorgeous flower bouquets made by so many of you! I knew I wanted to use my border punch and Spellbinder leaves. You can see the results! The sentiment is from SU and of course, Tilda is at Magnolia-licious right now!
CANDY ALERT
I had so many colors out on my table that I did not keep track, so sorry! Tilda is stamped on the paper that's all the rage for copics-the X-Press IT blending card. I ordered a ream and if you leave a comment I would like to send YOU some to try!! Diana has or will be selling smaller quantities in the store so it will be more affordable! Thanks, Diana! But for now I'd like to send you a little package! Please leave a comment saying anything you like or a favorite fall activity or food! I'll ship anywhere-please leave your comment by Friday, September 25. Thanks!
Please travel on now to see what the most talented Janiel-Scrappyjan has to show you!!
Have a wonderful Monday!
ETA: I'm so sorry that I wasn't clear! I will choose one winner for some Xpress it blending card on Saturday! please forgive me!

Floral Birthday

Hello! I finally had time to finish a Magnolia card! How I've missed my Maggies! I have so many images stamped up just waiting for me to have time to color! And fall colors are my favorites so there are MANY things I want to get to! Well, this Tilda with Peony was a pleasure to color! Isn't she sweet!? I don't see her in stock right now at Magnolia-licious, but if you email Diana she'll help you out! I colored her with my copics and I'll list most of the colors below. The flower chain is a new EK success. I just love these chains. I bought a leaf one, too that you'll be seeing very soon! My papers are from the DCWV Rustic stack-gorgeous colors and glitter, too! I'm not crazy about the bow I made with the shabby ribbon, but I'm seldom happy with everything on a card! Oh well!

Tried to straighten my blog out this morning! It's from Leelou free blog designs.
she has lots of designs and I think I'm hooked!
I love fall weekends for going on adventures, but at the beginning of the school year I'm so tired by the end of the week that I just want to stay home! DH is fixing a window sill in need of replacing and I have MANY inside projects to take care of today! The fun things will have to come later, when the work is done! Hmmm, maybe a walk around the lake...
I hope whatever you do today that you find adventure and fun in it! Have a gorgeous day!
Cheryl
ETA: the colors:
hair and shoes E33, E25, E29
yellow E30 and Y21

Hats off to Hattie!

Hey, ghoulfriends! Back again today and this time with a new Copic Creations Challenge! This time our challenge is Shading! We are sponsored this time by Kraftin' Kimmie! She has some terrific new Halloween stamps and I see on the site she has just released more new images! This is Hattie and I just couldn't resist giving her green, ghostly skin! Shading can mean all kinds of things with copics and we'd love to have you visit the Copic Creations Challenge Blog for details (on Kimmie's prize) and tutorial links! My shading involves toning down bright colors. I colored her dress in some of the Blue Violets, but didn't want it bright and wanted to deepen the shadows (she is a ghoul after all!). To do this I added some C7 and C9 to the deepest areas of shadow.

Well, thanks for visiting today! I so appreciate it! And, won't you consider joining us for the Copic creations Challenge in the next two weeks? We'd love to have your work of art added to the blog!

The more candles...

the bigger the wish!
Hello! I had to do one last campfire card for the season because last weekend was the family camping trip that I had been talking about since July! We did a lot of sitting around the fire! This card 'fits the bill' for my oldest brother's birthday which was yesterday! (late again!) For the card I used Camping Carl from the Humorous Seniors line of stamps at I Brake for Stamps! My brother does have more hair than this but he did reach a milestone birthday yesterday! I won't say which! Remember you can get 10% off any order from IBFS by using my code SAVE10CHERYL
I colored Carl with my copics in the following colors:
Eooo, Eoo, E11 and R30 for skin
YG01, YG93 and YG 97 for his shirt
B41, B95 and B97 for jeans and B99 for his chair seat and back
Y21, E31,33,35,25, 57, and 29 for the stump and other browns
Y38 and YR16 for the embers
C3, C5 C7 and T5 for the stones.

Here is a picture of just one of our fires! I was playing around with night photos! There were 18 of us in 2 lodges and 3 more in a camper at the Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort in Bath, NY.
It was almost equidistant for us to meet there. What a great place in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region. I even organized a scavenger hunt and divided us into 8 teams. It was a close finish, but Buz and his wife Shelly won with 30 points. (Buz is the birthday boy who I made the card for). He was very sneaky in his collection of the items on the list and we had no idea how many he had found! I think we'll go again next year for our family gathering. I {{heart}} my family!
Guess I better get going for work now!
I'll try to be back with more regular postings! (I think that's the awesome Linda Heavens who just joined my site! Can you say STARSTRUCK! )
Have a wonderful day!!

Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Hello! So glad you liked my pirate card below, thanks for all the love!
Mo has drawn us some images from the Wizard of Oz and here, of course, is the scarecrow! Isn't he great?! You can just see his wobbly movements as he was in the movie! This is another card that would be great for a belated birthday wish with the sentiment, "If I only had a brain" and inside "I wouldn't have missed your birthday!" Mo's images are so adaptable that way! I love everything pumpkins, scarecrows, fall and Halloween so I colored him up for a fall card. You can find him at Mo's Digital Pencil! Search for the others, too, they are awesome! She's done the tin man, the lion, BOTH witches as well!
He is colored with my copics, but I didn't keep track of all the colors-I'm sorry! I have got to quit coloring in the living room! If I color in my 'studio' I do a better job of keeping track!

See the rose? I made my own from some shabby ribbon I got from an Etsy store! I just punched a 1" disk from the dp, covered it with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive. Then I gathered the ribbon in a spiral, trying to gather it close at the bottom edge and placed it on the glued disc. It worked out okay, I think. It would smush into an envelope easily and not affect the 'rose' at all!
I do have to announce that I am leaving Mo's wonderful Dream Team with this post. I will still do her images because who can resist them?! Not me? But, my craftin' time has been chopped into by my real job and something had to give. I have loved every minute and was so honored to be working with such an excellent group! Heartfelt thanks to Mo, Jak, Mina, Peggy and ALL the rest of the team! Hugs!
Wishing YOU all best this great day can bring! thanks for visiting!

Shiver me Timbers!

Hello! Here's what I did with my Labor Day! No kidding, this card took me ALL day and I have no idea why it should have. But, I got very little else done today~just ask my husband! LOL!
This is Jolly Roger Tilda from Magnolia-licious. She is number 248 and is in stock now! Tilda is stamped on cream card stock and colored with my copics. The papers are a mixture of companies, (Graphic 45 and Bo Bunny). I got them at my LSS just for a pirate card. I liked the richness of the colors and how the text paper looked old, like part of a pirate's treasure map! The sentiment is from Memory Box and I think would be great for a birthday or a belated birthday card.
Here is her close up shot. I may still add stickles to her Jolly Roger flag! I knew I should have sewed in black thread on the card, but since I had worked a long time on it I decided on fake stitches!
Copics used are as follows:
Eooo, Eo1, E11 and R30 for skin
Hair , boots and all browns E42, E43, E25, E29 and on occasion E31, E35
Reds, R27, R37 and R59
Y21 was used to add yellow here and there and BG10 for the blues behind Tilda.
Well, I'm off for my first day with students today! I'll be doing my best to continue posting frequently. The world of Special Education changes drastically every year and this one (my 32nd) is no exception. I try to remember that change keeps me on my toes!
Wishing you a wonderful day!
Hugs, Cheryl

Please, please forgive me for not posting a huge THANK YOU sooner! Thanks for all your votes on the Paperworks company team challenge a couple of weeks ago! Thanks to YOU Team Buffalo Stampers won! Thank you, Thank you so much!

Happiness

Good morning (well, it's morning here in Western NY)! I hope you are well today!
Happiness is coloring images with my copics! Here is Roasting Rita and I think you can see what brings her happiness!

Rita is one of the Humorous Seniors stamps at I Brake for Stamps. They are so fun to color and make into cards for friends!

This card is called a Hinge Card, I think. You cut your cardstock 4.25 x 11 and score at 5.5" . then on just the front, inside you score at 1.25 inches from the center score. I always use my Scor-Pal or my new Scor- buddy for scoring. Then you use strong adhesive, like Scor tape to hold the 'hinge' part together. Tie the ribbon through the inside BEFORE adhering together! then just the fore part opens and the left side becomes the 'hinge'!
Though it is still summer we had a drastic change in the weather for yesterday and today. It really feels like fall so I was drawn to the Basic Grey plaid paper which looks like a flannel shirt! The papers are from the Max and Whiskers 6 x6 pad.
We still have our family camping trip coming up soon. I sure hope the weather improves a bit!

Don't forget you can use my code, SAVE10CHERYL to get 10% off your order from I Brake for Stamps!
Well, better get going for now! Thanks so much for coming by!

So Spooky!

Not really! It's another adorable Kai from Mo's Digital Pencil! Once again, I pulled out my Basic Grey Eerie pad from last year and went to work with copics in orange, green, purple and grey/black! This is Pirate Kai! I used a Mojo Monday sketch from awhile ago to give me a different layout- a nice change I think! Julee's sketches are so adaptable! I just love the opposite punched corners on this sketch and the ribbon streamers.
I don't have the copic colors I used as I colored this little guy awhile back. Sorry. I used a Martha Stewart fern punch and primas from my stash of flowers.
There are Stardust stickles all over his parrot and in the jack o'lantern's features. I put some glaze pen on the crossed bones on his hat.
Thanks so much for coming by. I'm so grateful for all the visits, followers and comments!
We've gotten a little chilly here today so it is inside weekend! Maybe I'll get at some of the stamps that have never seen ink!
Hope you are comfy and cozy today!

Bon Voyage and Backpack! (and Copic Creations Challenge, too!)

Hello, friends and welcome to September! I've been working on this for a few days and at the end had to rush to have it ready. What else is new? The September challenge is brought to us by the talented Becca Feeken. The mission she gives us is to use a stamp from the Bon Voyage collection at Magnolia-licious and make a suitcase or backpack to go with it. I made the backpack from the excellent tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. So much fun!! You can go HERE for more inspiration!
Have you seen the wonderful, colorful backpacks out there?! I almost couldn't resist buying one! How fun to choose papers and patterns and make your own! I started with the backpack and was guided by the Stampin Up dp called Woodland. It has Kraft and Wasabi with Chocolate and cream. I love it! I used the Emblem stamp from Magnolia-licious for a tone on tone look.
I also used a PTI set in SU ink to make the plaid on the Kraft card stock.
I know you won't be surprised to read that I colored Tilda with copics! I used E000, E11, E01 and R30 for her skin. E42 and E43 for the tans. To darken the shoes I added some E25 and blended with the lighter browns. For her had and dress I used G40 and YG17 to get a match for Wasabi green. I also added some E42 to "dull" it a bit. Similar colors were used on the sign and suitcase on which she is sitting. So stamps used are: Emblem (736), Suitcase and sign (#625) and Traveling Tilda (#377) which is not currently in stock. Please email Diana to see when more might come into the store.

My card fits the Copic Creations challenge (#34) for the next two weeks-using copics to color folds and pleats. I think so many of you do this as well as or better than I, so please join in the challenge! You can find all details here at Copic Creations. Mary always posts a tutorial or two along with the challenge! She's great that way!

A couple more photos and then I'm off! It's early to bed because it's a work day tomorrow! Oh, one more thing-the main panel is on dimension pieces so the takes pulls out easily for a specil sentiment! (there's nothing on it yet, though! LOL!)

As always, thanks so very much for visiting!
Have an excellent day!
Cheryl
