Just Us Girls #295 Wild Card week!

Hello! It's me-late again!! And in a hurry too!  I'll get this posted and make it brief and come back with details later, okay?  Thanks for understanding!  I just adore this card and I'm so glad you popped over for a closer look! I hope I don't disappoint!  It's Wild Card week at JUST US GIRLS and Sharyn chose a great one! PAPER PIECING!! I know I'd like to do it more often. I ALWAYS love the results!  Please join in with us this week, won't you!

For my card I used Happy Dinoday-a new image from Whipper Snapper Designs.  They have created several terrific dinosaurs! I think they are great for all ages and celebrations!
Please have a look at my pics and check in later. I promise to post a bit more! PROMISE!!
Okay, as promised, I'm back. Happy Dinoday was stamped in memento tuxedo black on xpress it blending card and cut using MFT's cross stitch square (largest one).  Then I used my copics to color his tummy in Ys and YR24, his toenails and teeth in W0 and W2, his balloon in RV14 and Rv19, as well as his hat. Then his hat is dotted and bowed in Yr 15.  I also stamped the image (in Memento black) onto Bo Bunny double dot paper (lime green). I used my copics to color right onto the dotted paper and then fussy cut it out. I just love how the simple shading makes him look so 3d on the patterned paper! And then he is glued onto the xpress it cardstock, so that part is a bit raised and he just looks sooo awesome!
I stamped MFT dotted bg in Lucky Limeade (SU onto) Limeade Ice (PTI) cardstock and MFTs diagonal stripe background in Coastal Cabana (SU) onto Coastal Cabana cardstock.
I used white gel pen on the dino's eyes, then a bit of black sharpie for the pupils and finally (when all that was dry) a coat of glossy accents.  There is (are?) also glossy accents added to his toenails, and Stardust stickles on his festive party balloon and party hat as well as the pink dots on his body.
Here's a LINK to the other Whipper Snapper Dinos!  I have Birthdaysaurus and think I may need Desmond next!

Thanks again for stopping by! Cheryl

JUGS #294 PHOTO WEEK!:

Hi there, crafty friends!! It's photo week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has picked a gorgeous entryway photo to inspire us! Take a look:

*paint the inside of the door* Pin Obsessed: Favorite Finds - This Silly Girl's Life

See what I mean?  Stunning, right?  So beautiful that I was a bit stumped! You may want to check out truly inspired creations on the BLOG before looking at my sad example! LOL! Well, here goes!
I guess I was mainly inspired by the gorgeous aqua door and the bright, crisp white.  From there, I'm afraid I just wanted to use my new MFT stamps! I just love this sentiment with the cow!  It just makes me happy~And SO does Lisa's photo!
Another view and finally a CLOSE up of the little cow!  I guess the cow has the touch of 'orange' you see on the rug in the photo, if you stretch your imagination a bit! I used MFT dies for my circles and card layers. I cut Felt buttons with PTI dies. Love them!
I appreciate that you took a look and thanks again to those who have joined as followers! Summer is coming and I hope to be coloring and posting more frequently!  I love that you visit!
Please do join us in the challenge this week.. We'd love to see what  you come up with! You have until Thursday, May 28 at 9 pm ET.  IF you are chosen Chic of the Week in May you have a chance to be our Guest Designer in July!

Have a great day and weekend!  THANK YOU to all our servicemen and women, past and present, for your service to our country.

Just Us Girls #293 COLOR week

Hello!  It's color week at Just Us Girls and Chris has a great one that will give you OPTIONS!!!
Take a look!

I didn't have to think twice about using some (light) teal and coral with a bit of green!  I adore these colors!  I've had this stamp set (Bordering on Romance) from SU for a long time and only inked it up a couple of times!  I'm a bit late with my post because work has me worn out these days and I wasn't feeling the creative spirit.  But, this morning I pulled out my Xpress it blending and some copics and got to work! Not work, when you love it!

Here are a couple of pics of the result and I'm pretty happy with it.  I used some YRs for my large flowers and buds. BGs for the teal, and YGs for the leaves.  I surrounded the colored image with Ws and then cut with my ~~NEW~ MFT crosss stitch dies! OMG! I'm in love!! I left the cardstock in the die and stenciled Sahara Sand on my Xpress it and Crisp Cantaloupe ink on the Crisp Cant. piece.   Finally, the card base is Pool Party.  It's stamped in Pool Party with my Impression Obsession 6" gingham stamp (another fave!!). Edges are sponged with more PP.  Some PTI ribon finished off my card.
I hope you like it and please don't let the week get by you without joining in on our challenge!  You have until thursday, May 21 to get your card entered.  And to see tons of inspiration you've got to visit our blog JUST US GIRLS!
Thanks for spending a little time here and I thank the new people who are following me as well as my previous friends! I appreciate it so much!!

Monday May Flowers!

Hi!  It's a rare Monday post for me!  Just thought I'd pop in with a reminder that the Just Us Girls team challenge for the week is to use twine on your card!  This is such an easy one so won't you join us!

I just got this new stamp in my Whipper Snapper order! I love these Groovy Blooms!  I stamped them on xpress it blending card and colored them with my copics.  I tried to match some of the colors in this ancient October Afternoon dp.  I didn't want it to be too matchy-matchy.
my card base is Kraft and the green layers are PTI's Lucky Limeade.  After I took the photos I added some stardust stickles to each of the flowers.

Thanks for coming by today! I really appreciate it!
Have a great day and week!

Just Us Girls 291- WORD WEEK

Hello friends!  It's my turn to host on the Just Us Girls team and I have a fun and easy challenge for you this week! The word is TWINE!  Sometimes ribbon can give us fits with trying to get the bow to look right, but not TWINE! It's thin for mailing and just adds a great look to a card! Did you get tons of colors when it became popular like I did?  Well then, let's get going!  Here's some inspiration for you on our BLOG.

I made a set of cards to give a friend for her birthday and added twine to several of them.  So, bear with me, I have a few photos for you.  I used PTI products-Brushed Blooms stamp set and Cover Plate dies.  The grey cardstock is also PTI (Smoky Shadow?) as well as their basic white cardstock for my card bases. It's so nice and thick-makes the card a substantial piece of art.  So, here are my cards:
And another;
okay, this one doesn't have twine (I should have added it to the flower stem), but I wanted to share!  this is Paula's b-day card and I boxed the rest up and put a bunch of the ovals in a little bag, so she can add the sentiments she wants when she uses the cards!

Thanks for looking! Please do click on the Just Us Girls blog link above to see all the DT inspiration and then join us this week in the challenge to use TWINE on  your card!
You have until Thursday, May 7 at 9:00 pm to add your card with Mr. Linky.
Thanks and have a great weekend,Cheryl
