Just Us Girls #328 Wild Card Week!

Come Join the Fun! Chris is our Challenge Hostess this week and she has us playing Craft BINGO!! You can't get more fun than that!! Check out her bingo board below!! AND check out the inspiration from my teamies on our BLOG HERE!

And here is my card:
I used water color paper for starters and went straight across the middle of the Bingo card~using pearls, stamps and paper piecing.  ( I also CASEd Birgit on Splitcoast, I'll admit) Before stamping I used my sponge ink applicator to put gray ink (SU) on my water color paper.  My stamps are from Penny Black (stamped in Archival Jet Black)  and I used masking paper (Simon Says Stamp) after stamping the snowman to put the 'branches' behind him.
Then I watercolored with reinkers in grey and pinks. I stamped the image on dp from a 6 x6 pad and cut them out and glued onto the watercolor paper. I have some white paint recommended by Kittie Carriciolo (Amazon) and the "berries" are painted with that.  That's where I applied a few pearls. Can you find them???  I also put some stickles icicle glitter glue on, but I'm not sure that shows up.
Finally, I cut the panel with an MFT stitched edge die (Blueprint set ?) mounted it on a black panel and then on an Aqua Mist (PTI) top fold card.
Thanks for coming by to look and please join in the BINGO challenge this week! We'd love to see which path you take on the board and what you come up with!

Just Us Girls #327 Photo Week Fun!

Hello!  It's PHOTO WEEK at Just Us Girls and Sharyn has a really great one for us today! It's light, breezy and has a hint of summer to it! I loooove it! You can take a look at it and some great inspiration from the DT and our Guest DT members on our BLOG HERE!
Or here's the photo:

I love the zig zag, the light yellow walls and white accents pieces, the anchor.  How is it that I don't own an anchor stamp?!?  But, I could go with the nautical theme so that was okay with me.  Zig zag? Check! Yellow? Check!  I kept looking at the picture thinking there should be some rope in it! There isn't, but I added some to my card anyway! I just wish I knew a sailor's knot, or at least could remember a macrame knot or two from days gone by! (ha!ha!)
Anyway, here's my card~inspired by Sharyn's chosen photo:
We'd love to have you join in the challenge so we can see what inspires you in this photo!  You have until Thursday, January 28th at 9 pm to enter your card with Mr. Linky on our site. You could be our Chic of the Week and have a chance to become a Guest Design Team Member for the Month of March!
Thanks for coming by today! Cheryl

My Favorite Things and My Favorite Card!

Can you be in love with a card?!! I think I am! I took A LOT of pictures, so I'll try not to bore you with a lot of words! I made this on our snow day Tuesday (for a friend's birthday) and am crazy about it!
I watercolored the background with Peerless watercolors-followed Julie Ebersole's You tube video for how to set them up.  I'm pretty challenge with watercoloring bgs, but this one pleased me. Watercolor paper for this one is from Walmart!!
The diamonds are cut from white card stock and glittered with Stardust dry glitter.  The outlines are cut from shiny gold cardstock.  My diamond dies are from MFT.

I know this pic is blurry, but can you see all the sparkle.! Makes me :)

Inside sentiment, "YOU ROCK!!"

You can click on any pic to enlarge!
This was so fun to make! I think every girlfriend may get one for her birthday this year. I can't wait to make more with different colors in the background!  Thanks so much for looking at all the pics! Enjoy your day!

Just Us Girls #326 COLOR WEEK

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Maria has colors on the cool side of things, just like our weather, here in Western New York-Light Blue, Dark Blue and White!  Those are the colors to use!

So here's my card:
I bought this little guy when Purple Onion had their holiday sale just before Christmas and he is a cutie and kind of quick to color!  I colored him up with copic markers! Yes, I still used my littel aqua table and aqua plaid paper for the bg, but I had to show you I really do have BLUE papers, not just aqua, which seems to appear on EVERY single card I make!  This one is really blues! I just got the WONKY stitched dies from My Favorite Things and had to use them for this card.  You can't really see it on the large rectangle, but it's there!  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches (seems to get a lot of use this time of year)!
Have a great day and weekend!
Check out the JUGS blog for tons of inspiration from the Fabulouso design team and the two guest designers who also brought out their best blues! Enter your card/project by Thursday so we can see what you've made, won't you?  You might win a chance to be our guest designer in March!

More Metal (Mid-week post!)

A rare mid-week card and post for me!! Kind of fun to get something done besides on the weekend! I actually started this on the weekend when I should have been doing my school work! It's a shaker card, too!  I haven't made one of them in YEARS!!  It was fun! AND, that's where the metal for the JUGS challenge comes in!  There are some silver sequins in the shaker!

My inspiration was a card that the Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers had made so I'll link this up there too! The cute cat, bird, flower stamp is from High Hopes and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches.  The die from which I cut the circle for my shaker is from My Favorite Things as is the tag die that the sentiment is stamped on.
To lift the whole card front to make the shaker I used a piece of craft foam in white (following Jennifer McGuire's lead) because she always gives good advice!
Thanks for looking!  Remember you have until Thursday night (9ET) to enter your card in the JUGS trend challenge-use metal/metallics on your project or card.
Thanks for coming by! See you soon!  Cheryl

Just Us Girls #325 TREND WEEK!

Hello and welcome to the weekend!!   The JUGS challenge this week is very Trendy and brought to us by the equally trendy, Sue!  Sue says to use Metal/Metallics on your card or project!  You know that with all your supplies you have lots of options, right!?  I sure did! But, having gone back to school this week meant going with the tried and true SILVER heated embossing powder!
Here's my card:

The card didn't turn out just as I had planned, but I think it will work for someone, sometime! I imagined this lace BG stamp from My Favorite things in gorgeous silver (Ranger Emb. powder) on light grey card stock.  But then, I'd seen some cards with Bugs on them and the sentiment you can see that I used.  I was itching to use that theme-maybe to make some Valentines??  While school was on break I did a little extra 'me' shopping and just received some Paper Smooches a well as the Taylored Expressions bugs, so you could be seeing some more of these type of cards (maybe not the lace, though).
Anyway, check out the very different and very inspirational cards on our Just Us Girls Blog-you'll love what you see!
And, please enter your project by Thursday, Jan. 14 at 9 pm ET. You could win Chic of the Week and then have a chance to be our Guest Designer in March!
If you have any questions about materials used, please ask in a comment and I'll get back to you! Promise!
Have a great day! Cheryl

Just Us Girls #324 Word Week

Hello, crafty friends!  It's a new year and time to get back in the papercrafting groove!  I hope your holidays have held every single thing you'd hoped for as you prepared for them! And, HAPPY, HAPPY 2016, while I'm at it! Wishing you good things in this year, all year through!
The JUST US GIRLS team is happy to be back with you after our break!  Check out our new, clean and creative BLOG look! It's fresh and pretty!  Nancy is our challenge host this week, and her words are THANK YOU!  Really great for this time of year!  We also want to welcome TWO guest designers, Vicki and Deepti to the team this month! Don't miss their creations!

I'm actually making 8 similar cards as a set to give to a friend so I'll show you two of the cards that I have made.  I used a new Simon Says  Stamp set for Valentine's Day. It's called Roses for You.  The sentiments are from Paper Smooches and ???? (not sure about the other one). My card bases are water color paper. I used fabulous dies from My Favorite Things to cut my main panel and stamped the rose images in Versamark then embossed in white embossing powder.  I used Distress Markers to color the flowers then added a little water with a paint brush to move the colors a bit for blending. Then I cut another layer of cardstock or dp with another die to 'frame' my focal image, stamped the sentiment. Oh yes, I also put the panel back in the die and used a stencil brush to brush in some Pool Party. (An old technique that I still love!)
Here's another in aqua and orange. I'll show more another time~~
In the mean time, we'd love to see what you create for the word challenge this week, and DO check out our blog (linked at top of post) for inspiration!!
You can enter until 9 pm ET on Thursday, Jan. 7, so please do!
Have a great day!
